The Deleted Deadpool Line So Outrageous, Reynolds Vowed to Take It to His Grave!

Ryan Reynolds has long been known for his quick wit and irreverent humor, especially in his portrayal of the chaotic, wise-cracking Deadpool. But even the merc with a mouth had to hold back on one particular line that was so outrageous, Reynolds vowed to take it to his grave.

In the much-anticipated “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie, a joke involving Disney’s beloved mascot Mickey Mouse was so explicit that it was ultimately scrapped at the studio’s request. According to Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, this line, which was included in the original script, was too much even for Deadpool’s no-holds-barred sense of humor.

In the original version, Deadpool delivers a biting joke: “F—! What, we can’t even afford one more X-Man? Disney is so cheap. I can barely breathe with all this Mickey Mouse c–k in my throat.” As bold and brash as Deadpool himself, the line was clearly meant to mock Disney’s corporate culture in a typically irreverent Deadpool fashion. However, it was too explicit for the film’s corporate partner and ultimately had to be cut.

Director Shawn Levy explained that the only change made to the script was the removal of this line, which was replaced with another, equally audacious joke involving Pinocchio. Despite this alteration, Levy assured fans that the film retained its signature irreverent humor, including jabs at the Marvel Cinematic Universe and personal lives of the stars.

Reynolds himself has been vocal about how extreme the line was, with both he and Levy agreeing that it was a secret that they would “take to their grave.” It was a playful nod to the fact that not every joke, no matter how funny, was going to make the final cut when working with a studio like Disney.

Despite the change, “Deadpool & Wolverine” has proven to be a massive success. The film has earned an impressive $1.3 billion at the global box office and is now available for streaming on Disney+. And while fans might never get to hear Reynolds’ original joke about Mickey Mouse, they can still expect the same subversive, sharp-witted humor that made Deadpool a household name.

In the end, the removal of the line did little to dull the movie’s impact. “Deadpool & Wolverine” remains a comedic powerhouse, proving that sometimes, even the wildest jokes can be reined in to deliver a blockbuster hit. Whether or not Reynolds ever lets the deleted line slip in the future remains to be seen, but for now, it’s a fun secret tucked away in Hollywood history.
