Rod Stewart, the legendary British rocker, is gearing up for a momentous return to Glastonbury Festival, but the decision to take the stage has come at a hefty price. Days after being announced as the first confirmed performer for the 2025 edition of the iconic festival, Stewart revealed that his appearance will cost him a whopping $300,000—an expense he calls “a fortune,” but one he’s more than willing to pay.

Speaking candidly to talkSPORT on November 27, Stewart shared that the decision to perform at Glastonbury was a no-brainer. “I didn’t hesitate at all,” he said. “I accepted the offer immediately. It’s a great honor, and it’s going to cost me a fortune to do it—$300,000. I’ve got to bring all my band back from America, and of course, Glastonbury doesn’t pay for that.”

Despite the financial burden, Stewart made it clear that the honor of playing at Glastonbury outweighed any concerns about cost. “I don’t care if it cost me $1,000,000, I would have done it. It’s a great honor. It really is the greatest honor,” he said, emphasizing his excitement for the opportunity.

The announcement of Stewart’s performance at Glastonbury marks a major milestone for the artist, who will take on the coveted Sunday teatime Legends slot. He’s proud to be carrying on the legacy of artists who have graced the stage before him, including Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue, and Diana Ross. Stewart himself previously headlined the Pyramid Stage in 2002, and his return to the festival will no doubt be a highly anticipated event for fans worldwide.

“I’m proud, ready, and more than able to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June,” Stewart said, teasing fans with his trademark charisma and confidence.

In addition to his Glastonbury performance, Stewart will embark on his One Last Time 2025 tour, set to return to North America in March. The tour will include dates between March and August, with Stewart also returning to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for more shows in his extended Las Vegas residency. Fans in Las Vegas will get another chance to see Stewart live throughout March, May, and June as part of the residency that has spanned over a decade.

However, the excitement of the tour was momentarily dampened when Stewart was forced to cancel his 200th and final show of his 13-year Vegas residency due to health issues. In a heartfelt message to disappointed fans, he shared that he was suffering from strep throat and couldn’t perform. “Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me,” he explained. “I’m absolutely gutted.”

Despite this setback, Stewart remains optimistic and ready to hit the stage for what promises to be a show-stopping performance at Glastonbury. With his decades of experience and undeniable stage presence, Rod Stewart is sure to make his mark once again on one of the world’s most famous music festivals.
