Travis Kelce’s musical tastes have long been a subject of interest, especially with his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs player has been candid about his love for Swift’s music, often sharing his favorite tracks on his podcast, New Heights, and now, he’s revealed even more songs that have won his heart.

During a special bonus episode on November 27, Travis Kelce opened up about his evolving Taylor Swift playlist, which now includes some newer favorites, along with a classic. While Kelce has always been a fan of Swift’s iconic hit “Blank Space,” calling it a song he’ll “always listen to forever,” he’s recently added a few new tracks that have become regulars on his playlist.

One standout is “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” a song from Swift’s Lover album that Kelce says he “learned to absolutely love.” He credits his deep appreciation for the track to Taylor’s 2019 NPR performance, which helped him see the song in a new light. “That’s where I fell in love with it,” he shared. It’s clear that Kelce connects with Swift’s songwriting on a personal level, as the raw emotion in the lyrics continues to resonate with him.

But Travis doesn’t stop there—he also highlighted some other fan-favorite songs that have stuck with him. “The Alchemy” and “So High School” from Taylor’s 2024 album are also making their way onto his list. “You can’t go wrong with ‘The Alchemy,’” Kelce said, adding that the latter track evokes strong feelings. His choice of these songs suggests that, much like many fans, Kelce is closely following Taylor’s newer music and has developed a particular fondness for her more recent work.

To top off his favorites, Kelce also gave a shout-out to “Cowboy Like Me,” a track from Swift’s Evermore album. With its haunting melodies and storytelling, the song has long been beloved by fans, and it seems it’s also struck a chord with the Super Bowl champion.

Interestingly, one of Travis’s latest favorites, “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” holds special significance for Taylor herself. Despite not being part of her official Eras Tour setlist, Taylor has often expressed her admiration for the song. In fact, during a 2019 Tiny Desk concert, she opened up about the personal meaning behind the track, which she wrote during a time when she was grappling with the fear of losing her songwriting abilities as she entered a happy relationship with Joe Alwyn.

“Over the course of the years, I’ve gotten a question over and over again that I think has the potential to seriously deteriorate my mental health,” Taylor revealed, recalling how journalists would ask, “What will you ever do if you get happy? What will you write about? Will you just never be able to write a song again?” For Taylor, “Death by a Thousand Cuts” was proof that even in a happy place, she could still channel heartache and create art. “I don’t have to stop writing songs about heartache and misery,” she joked, “which for me is incredible news.”

Travis Kelce’s newfound love for “Death by a Thousand Cuts” mirrors Taylor’s own journey with the song—proving that even as the world changes, some things (like good music) remain timeless. Whether he’s diving into classic favorites like “Blank Space” or discovering the emotional depth of newer tracks, Kelce is clearly a fan of Taylor Swift’s music, and it’s safe to say that his playlist has never sounded better.
