Travis Kelce Says He ‘Doesn’t Know’ How He Started Dating Taylor Swift: ‘She Wasn’t into Sports’

Travis Kelce is opening up about the unexpected beginnings of his relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift. During the latest episode of his podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs star shared some candid thoughts about how he and Swift, both 34, started dating.
In the April 10 episode, Travis and his brother Jason, 36, welcomed rapper Lil Dicky, 36, as their guest. The conversation turned to the newfound attention their podcast has received from Taylor Swift’s dedicated fanbase, known as “Swifties.” Jason remarked on the increased attention, noting that it hasn’t changed much for him, while Travis admitted he’s enjoying the ride.
“It’s fun,” Travis said. “I’m having a blast in life, baby. Just flying high, enjoying it all. Bringing new lives to the football world and opening up the football world to new things.”
Lil Dicky chimed in, praising their romance as “the best thing ever,” and likened it to a high school fairytale where the most popular pop star and beloved athlete fall in love. “Anyone who hates on it is a bitter loser,” the comedian added.
Travis laughed and responded, “I appreciate it, man. I don’t know how I did it because she wasn’t into sports, so I don’t know how the f— I did it.” After Lil Dicky reminded him of how he publicly called her out, Travis conceded with another laugh, “No, I know exactly how I did it.”
The couple first sparked dating rumors in September 2023 when Swift attended several of Kelce’s games. Travis later revealed on The Pat McAfee Show that he had invited Swift to one of his games after watching her perform at Arrowhead Stadium during her Eras Tour in July 2023. The romance was confirmed in October 2023 when the pair was seen holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty in New York City.
Since then, Travis has shown his support for Swift by attending multiple dates on her worldwide tour, most recently traveling to Singapore for her six shows at the Kallang Stadium last month.
