Jennifer Lopez’s mom’s cutting marriage advice to the singer revealed

In a dramatic turn of events, Jennifer Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, is reportedly urging her daughter to leave Ben Affleck due to fears that the singer is losing sight of herself. According to insiders, López’s family believes she deserves better than a man who has decided to “throw in the towel” instead of fighting to save their relationship.

The 54-year-old “On The Floor” singer and the double Oscar winner, 51, have been the subject of months-long speculation about their two-year marriage being in crisis. Reports of the couple appearing without their wedding rings and living in separate homes have fueled rumors of an impending divorce.

Rodríguez, 78, is now said to be firmly encouraging her daughter to “cut her losses” and file for divorce, allowing her to focus on her career and her 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max.

“Jennifer’s mom told her, ‘Cut your losses and move on to avoid getting any deeper in this mess,’” an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. “She told her that she’s wasted years believing that Ben was some kind of knight in shining armor. He was not the person she built him up to be. It’s taken too much of a toll on her, and because of this, she has lost sight of who she is and what she stands for.”

Lopez’s sisters, Leslie Ann and Lynda, share their mother’s concerns, fearing that the singer and actress has lost perspective on her marriage.

“Jennifer currently feels like Ben does not deserve her, and her sisters agree,” the source continued. “They want Jennifer to be happy, of course, but they feel their sister is getting so caught up in what it was supposed to be that she isn’t seeing it for what it is now. They want her to file for divorce first and get on with her life – focus on her kids and career.”

The insider added, “It’s upsetting to her family and Jennifer that Ben cannot see there is a woman who is loved by millions that will love him eternally – but he would rather throw in the towel than actually just try to fix things.”

This marks a significant change in Rodríguez’s stance. Last year, she revealed on national television that she had “prayed” for two decades for her daughter to reconcile with Affleck. Speaking to Savannah Guthrie on the Today show, Rodríguez said, “I knew that they would always get back together because I prayed for 20 years.”

At the time, Lopez was surprised by her mother’s comments, telling Entertainment Tonight, “It’s so funny, she never said that to me. We never spoke about it. She really loved him when we were together before.”

On July 1, Affleck was seen arriving at his Beverly Hills office with luggage, following reports that he had moved his things out of their home while Lopez was on a solo trip to Italy and later to Paris for Fashion Week.

Garner, reportedly affected by the situation, has chosen to step back from the “circus” surrounding her ex and his marital issues. According to an insider, “Jen eventually got to a place where she was like, ‘Sorry, figure this out yourself.’ It was beginning to become too painful for her because it was bringing back so many memories of their divorce.”

The source added, “Jen opened up her home and her life to JLo because she had moved on from the past. She cares about JLo and their kids and how it will affect all of them. But in the end, it is not Jen’s circus, not Jen’s monkeys, and she is done playing marriage counselor to her ex-husband and his wife.”

Garner, who shares Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel with Affleck, was married to the actor from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018.
