In a resounding testament to her enduring appeal, Madonna’s Celebration Tour has clinched the title of 2024’s highest-grossing tour. According to a mid-year report from the live music trade publication Pollstar, the iconic singer’s tour, which kicked off last year, has already amassed an impressive $178.1 million in gross revenue. This feat is bolstered by an average ticket price of $208.85 and an average attendance of 13,378 fans per show.

Breaking Records and Setting New Benchmarks

Madonna’s success on the road underscores her unparalleled status in the music industry. The Celebration Tour not only highlights her ability to draw large crowds but also sets a new benchmark for gross earnings in the live music sector this year. Her continued dominance is a clear indicator of her lasting influence and the unwavering support from her fanbase.

Bad Bunny and Luis Miguel: Close Contenders

Trailing closely behind Madonna is Bad Bunny, whose 48-stop Most Wanted Tour has grossed $174.5 million so far. This remarkable achievement follows his previous record as the most-streamed artist in a single day on Spotify, a title he held until Taylor Swift surpassed it this April.

In third place is Mexican singer Luis Miguel, whose self-named tour has garnered $169.4 million. Having completed its legs across Latin America, the United States, and Canada, the tour commenced its European shows on June 28, promising further success.

U2’s Sphere Residency and Karol G’s Continued Success

U2’s residency in Las Vegas, held at the now-iconic Sphere venue, has also made a significant impact. The band’s performances over just 15 tour dates in 2024 (plus 25 in 2023) have grossed $134.7 million, securing the fourth spot on the list. Notably, U2’s shows boast the highest average ticket price at $352.86 each.

Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito Tour rounds out the top five, with earnings exceeding $110 million so far this year. The tour is set to continue across Europe and will culminate in Brazil in September, likely boosting its total gross further.

The Enigma of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

Despite its immense popularity, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour did not make this year’s list due to the singer’s decision to withhold official box office totals from trade publications. Nevertheless, Pollstar has utilized stadium capacities and potential gross estimates to project that The Eras Tour is the first to cross the billion-dollar mark in its 2023 year-end charts. The publication estimates that the tour will gross another $1 billion in 2024, potentially exceeding $2 billion by its conclusion in December.
