Travis and Jason Kelce are hitting the pause button on their widely popular podcast, “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce,” to prioritize football training. In the latest episode, released on Wednesday, July 3, Jason, 36, shared the news, revealing that the podcast will be on hold for two months. This break comes as Travis, 34, gears up for the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp.

“It’s the end of season 2, which I don’t even know what seasons mean, we just do this show. All that means to us is we’ve got a nice couple of months off from podcasting because, I guess, in three weeks’ time Travis will be in the middle of training camp,” Jason explained. Travis affirmed, “Yeah, literally.”

Jason continued, “And let me tell you, not enough time to do a podcast, especially the best podcast in the world,” emphasizing Travis’s commitment to football and the intense preparation required for the upcoming season. He added, “He’s gonna be busy focusing on football, getting in shape for this upcoming season. So we’re gonna be off for about two months.”

Travis, who plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, expressed his willingness to resume the podcast post-training camp. “I’m down to pick it up once we’re done with training camp,” he noted. Jason projected that the podcast could potentially start again at the end of August.

The brothers launched their podcast in September 2022, and since then, it has become a fan favorite, covering a wide range of topics from family life and NFL signings to their favorite movies and Super Bowl experiences. They even discussed Travis’s support for his girlfriend Taylor Swift during her Eras Tour, including his memorable stage debut in London on June 23.

The podcast’s success is marked by accolades, including the prestigious Podcast of the Year award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards in March. Their hiatus comes at a significant time for both brothers professionally. In April, Travis signed a lucrative two-year contract extension with the Chiefs, valued at over $17 million annually, making him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

Meanwhile, Jason announced his retirement from the NFL in March, following a remarkable 13-year career. He has since transitioned to a new role as a commentator for ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown. Reflecting on his new position in May, Jason said, “I feel incredible. I know what it takes to be great — it takes a great team. I am more than psyched to participate in all the shenanigans that’ll take place this season.” He also expressed excitement about the new chapter for his family, adding, “I have three wonderful daughters, and my wife Kylie and I, we’ll be taking full advantage [of working for Disney].”

As the Kelce brothers take this break, fans eagerly await their return to the podcasting world, ready to dive back into the engaging and heartfelt conversations that have made “New Heights” a standout success.
