This summer, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to heat up with the highly anticipated release of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” but Tom Hiddleston, the beloved actor behind Loki, has some exciting ideas for future team-ups that fans will definitely want to see. In a recent interview, Hiddleston was asked about potential Marvel collaborations, and his responses were nothing short of intriguing.

During an interview with Variety, Hiddleston was caught off guard when asked about other potential Marvel team-ups following his role in the Avengers movies. With characteristic charm, he gamely answered, revealing his thoughts on possible collaborations. “Now they’re all these new… the X-Men are back in there, right. Wolverine’s in there. My friend Charlie Cox plays Daredevil and he’s got a show coming out. I love Charlie to bits. We did a play together on Broadway years ago. It’d be fun. …I think Wolverine was in the original Avengers as far as I remember so there is some comic book history there. I’d have to dig my old comic books out.”

While Hiddleston’s recollection highlights the rich comic book history of Wolverine, whose origins trace back to a Hulk comic and who has notable ties to Captain America from World War II, it’s true that Wolverine hasn’t had much interaction with Loki in the comics. However, the thought of such a mash-up is tantalizing. Imagining Wolverine’s gruff demeanor clashing with Loki’s mischievous nature is enough to get any Marvel fan excited. A hypothetical battle between the two would likely be filled with snarky banter and intense action, with many betting on Wolverine to come out on top.

The upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie is known to involve the Time Variance Authority (TVA), and with multiple cameos expected, Loki’s appearance wouldn’t be entirely out of the question. A potential Wolverine-Loki team-up in this film could set a new precedent for Marvel crossovers. And with Deadpool in the mix, the interactions could be as hilarious as they are action-packed, with Deadpool undoubtedly making jokes about Loki’s extravagant outfits and relentless quest for power.

Hiddleston also expressed his enthusiasm for working with Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil. The two actors share a history, having starred together in the 2019 Broadway play “Betrayal,” and Hiddleston’s admiration for Cox hints at a potential on-screen reunion. With Daredevil being reintroduced to the MCU and the original cast from the Netflix series returning, the chemistry between Hiddleston and Cox could bring a new dynamic to the screen. The fact that Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who worked on “Loki” Season 2, are also involved in “Daredevil: Born Again” adds another layer of possibility for a crossover.

A Loki and Daredevil face-off would be more feasible given both characters’ strong ties to New York City within the MCU. Their paths crossing could provide a unique storyline, especially considering Loki’s penchant for time-travel and the unpredictable nature of his character. Slotting Loki into the “Born Again” storyline as an ally or adversary to Daredevil could make for compelling television.

While there are no confirmed plans for Loki to appear in the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again,” Marvel’s history of surprise cameos leaves the door open for possibilities. Fans will have to wait until the premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine” on July 26, and “Daredevil: Born Again” next March to see if any of Tom Hiddleston’s exciting ideas come to fruition. Regardless of the outcome, Hiddleston’s vision for future team-ups keeps the anticipation high and the possibilities endless in the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.
