Pink Gets Emotional as Daughter Willow, 13, Leaves Mom’s Tour to ‘Follow Her Dreams’ of Theater: ‘Beyond Proud’

Pink is experiencing a bittersweet moment as she bids farewell to her daughter Willow, who is leaving the Summer Carnival tour to pursue her passion for theater. The 45-year-old “So What” singer shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, capturing a touching backstage conversation with her 13-year-old daughter.

In the video, Pink and Willow share a candid and emotional exchange. Pink playfully teases her daughter, asking, “I want you to tell me all the things. You’re leaving me. Why would you ever do that? What are you doing when you get home, what are you looking forward to?”

With a beaming smile, Willow reveals her excitement about participating in a production of Bye Bye Birdie. The conversation quickly turns to Willow’s love for theater, a passion that Pink wholeheartedly supports. Pink reminisces about Willow’s debut on stage during a performance of Mamma Mia! “I remember when you came out on stage for the first time in Mamma Mia! and I was like, ‘Who is that person?’ I had never seen you so big and like, your energy was six times your body, it was amazing. I was blown away.”

Willow shares her dreams of pursuing theater professionally, with aspirations of one day performing on Broadway. Pink, clearly proud and supportive, tells her daughter, “You have your own lane and you want to be in it and I love that for you. I will tell you that in this last recital, I saw a version of you that I didn’t know existed. And it is really wild to watch you grow up and grow out of me.”

Pink has previously shared with PEOPLE that Willow has a strong interest in Broadway. “We’re learning a new song together, which is exciting. She’s not totally on board yet. She’s very into musical theater. I’m trying to get her to spread her wings a little bit,” she shared last month.

When asked about the genre of the new song they are learning, Pink responded, “Broadway,” adding, “I want her to go do the damn thing.” Pink continued to praise her daughter’s talent, saying, “She’s got a voice, man. She’s a little bird. She wants to do Broadway and then be a trauma surgeon.”

Willow’s medical aspirations, inspired by Grey’s Anatomy, are just another testament to her diverse interests and talents. “Yeah, she’s rad,” Pink concluded.
