CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Luke Combs is bringing his ‘Growin’ Up & Gettin’ Old’ Tour to Paycor Stadium Friday and Saturday.
Duane Haring, Paycor Stadium’s Director of Stadium and Event Operations, says about 60,000 people are expected to attend the concert.
“We’ve had a lot of practice doing this, we really feel like we excel at hosting these mega shows that go through the country,” said Haring.
Gates open at 4:40 p.m. Haring suggests planning ahead for the concert. The stadium’s clear bag policy will be enforced, and a wave of emails from Paycor Stadium was sent to all ticket holders with event details, Haring says.
No umbrellas are allowed at the event, but ponchos are allowed. If weather becomes an issue, the stadium has a plan.
“If we get inclement weather that is severe and we need to take action here with our fans, we have several methods of communication through different channels like our PA, video boards, a new IP TV system. We’ll communicate with fans where they should go and for how long they’ll need to do that,” said Haring.
Above all, Haring stresses patience, and urges fans to arrive at The Banks early.
The Banks is hosting a “Grail Gate” in honor of Combs’ visit from 2-8 p.m. both nights, and includes themed games, contests, live music, food, and drink.
Tracy Schwegmann, spokeswoman for The Banks, says 6,000 parking spots are available at The Banks garage and many more on the street.
She says The Banks is inviting everyone to come join in on the fun.
“We’re making sure there’s plenty for people to do, whether you have a ticket or you don’t have a ticket,” said Schwegmann.
The Banks is closing down the footprint between Great American Ball Park and Paycor Stadium to vehicles for the duration of the event.
The concert begins around 5:30 p.m. with four acts ahead of Combs. Combs takes the stage at 9 p.m.
“We kind of bring a festival to every city,” said Luke Combs’ Tour Manager Ethan Strunk.
Openers for Combs on Friday night include Cody Jinks, Charles Wesley Godwin, Hailey Whitters and The Wilder Blue.
Openers Saturday night are Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny, Drew Parker, and Colby Acuff.
