Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, recently revealed the exciting news that they are expecting their third child. However, Mahomes made it clear that this will be their last addition to the family.
“I’m done. I’ll say that. I did three and I’m done,” Mahomes stated with a wry grin on Tuesday, shortly after settling into his dorm room at training camp on the campus of Missouri Western State University.
Mahomes, along with the rest of the Chiefs’ quarterbacks, rookies, and select veterans, reported early to training camp, gaining a head start before the full roster joins them on Friday. The team is riding high after securing their second consecutive Super Bowl victory and is now eyeing a historic third straight Lombardi Trophy this season.
Amidst the rigorous preparations for another grueling NFL season, Mahomes is also gearing up for the arrival of his third child. The announcement, shared on social media by Brittany, marks another joyful milestone for the couple. Their daughter, Sterling, will celebrate her fourth birthday in February, and their son, Bronze, will turn two in November.
“I always wanted to have kids young,” Mahomes shared, reflecting on his upbringing. His father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., spent 11 years as a pitcher in Major League Baseball. “I got to grow up in the locker room. I mean, I’ve talked about it before, and it made such an impact in my life. And so I wanted to have kids young, and we’re having our third kid now to join the family.”
Mahomes recently returned from a European vacation with Brittany, which included stops in Spain, Portugal, and England. Their travels even included catching a bit of Wimbledon and attending a concert by pop superstar Taylor Swift, where they joined Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam during The Eras Tour.
“We still go out and enjoy our life and let our kids see these great things,” Mahomes said, acknowledging that Sterling and Bronze might not remember much at their young age. “And it’s really cool because I spend so much time in the building at football for these seven, eight months, and whenever I’m with my family, I want to enjoy those moments.”
As Mahomes prepares for another challenging football season, he also looks forward to expanding his family, firmly stating that three children complete the Mahomes household.
