ROSENDALE, N.Y. — Fans of the King of Rock and Roll are in for a treat! The Ulster County Office for the Aging is bringing Elvis Presley’s 1958 classic film “King Creole” to the big screen for a special free screening in Rosendale on April 8.

Elvis stars as Danny Fisher, a high school dropout who must find a way to support both himself and his unemployed father. The film follows Fisher’s journey as he gets involved with crime and later becomes a singer at a nightclub. However, trouble looms when the nightclub owner, Maxie Fields, played by Walter Matthau, offers Fisher a deal he can’t refuse — one that comes with threats and the enticement of a temptress played by Carolyn Jones.

The screening will take place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8. Admission is free for Ulster County residents aged 60 and older, though reservations are required. To secure your spot for the film, which is sure to bring back nostalgic memories of Elvis’ iconic performances, make sure to RSVP by Friday, March 28. Simply call the Ulster County Office for the Aging at (845) 340-3456 to reserve your seat.
